Exploring key moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and subverting them, taking viewers into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his death. The Observer: [Opening narration for each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more than a linear path. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the ones you know. I am the Observer. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question… “What if?” After the Marvel logo appears, it changes into an animated form in the show’s graphic style. Edited for Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very simple episode about rushing to put these pieces together. My facial expression was also quite serious while watching this episode, because there was no emotion or even a logical narrative to it. I understand that this is maybe an animated series aimed at kids? But only kids who have already experienced the entire MCU will be able to enjoy it. We’ll see how the rest of the episodes play out, but I’m certainly not too excited about them after this one. Edit: Episode 2 gave a real sense of what the MCU is all about, it was creative and thoughtful, with some great “WHAT IF” moments. I really enjoyed seeing T’challa back on screen. However, episode 3 was the deciding factor and forced me to edit this review. Watching this episode was so moving that I could have watched the whole movie. We re-examined characters we knew to a level that left you wanting more. I hope I can get 10 stars by the end of the season. Edition II: Here’s another star for a “weird”, thought-provoking episode that was by far the best of the bunch in terms of writing, storytelling, animation, and plot. Special mention to Benedict Cumberbatch for his masterful storytelling. Hats off to Marvel for doing this. However, approaching its fifth episode, the episode was certainly fun, humorous, and engaging with its high-quality animation, but once again, it showed too much at once without giving viewers enough time to take things in. Regardless, the overall rating for the series is 9/10, at least until the next two episodes. They need to finish episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
